A wood mount is your chosen artwork permanently bonded to a custom-cut wood panel and sealed under a durable non-glare laminate. The result is a rigid, scratch-resistant piece that is easy to clean, built to last, and arrives ready to hang — with none of the bulk or cost of a traditional frame.

We offer three distinct mounting styles — Plak, Float, and Flush — each producing a different look and wall profile. Choose from 11 edge colours, and optionally add a mat border in any of 22 colours for a framed-print appearance without the frame. Every piece is produced one at a time in our Mississauga, Ontario shop.

Your artwork is printed and permanently bonded to a 3/8” MDF panel, then sealed under a protective non-glare laminate. The result is a slim, lightweight, frameless piece with a bevelled edge in your choice of 11 colours. A keyhole slot on the back makes hanging straightforward.

Float Mount

Your print is mounted on a thin masonite panel with a 3/4” wood box frame attached to the back, inset from the outside edges. When hung, the piece appears to float off the wall with a shadow gap around the perimeter — a clean, contemporary effect.

Best for: contemporary art, photography, statement pieces

Flush Mount

Your print is mounted on a thin masonite panel with a 3/4” wood box frame that runs flush with all four outside edges, creating a bold, structured profile. The depth and defined sides give the piece real visual weight and an architectural presence on the wall.

Best for: large format prints and bold interiors

Add a Mat Border (Optional)

A mat border surrounds the print face with a coloured paper margin, giving the piece the polished look of a framed print without the frame. Available on all three mount styles in 22 colours, with a single or double mat option.

Single Mat or Double Mat

A single mat adds a 1½” coloured border around the perimeter of your print. A double mat adds a 3/16” inner accent border and a 1½” outer border, creating a layered look. The mat and print surface are sealed together under the same non-glare laminate, making the border as scratch-resistant as the rest of the piece.

Adding a trim: A trim is a thin accent line placed between the mat and the print. It is available in the same 22 colours as the mat and adds a refined inner border detail. Trim requires a mat to be selected first.

Frequently Asked Questions

All three use the same high-resolution print and non-glare laminate finish, but each is built on a different backing structure that changes how the piece sits on the wall. A Plak is a flat 3/8” MDF board, slim and lightweight. A Float Mount uses a thin masonite panel with a wood box frame on the back inset from the edges, so the piece appears to float off the wall with a shadow gap. A Flush Mount also uses a masonite panel but the box frame runs flush with all four edges, creating a bold, structured rectangular profile with visible depth on all sides.

The Plak is the most popular choice — it is slim, versatile, and works with any artwork at any size. The Float Mount suits contemporary décor where a floating shadow effect adds visual interest. The Flush Mount makes the strongest statement and works well for larger prints in bold or minimalist spaces. All three are ready to hang and produced to the same quality standard.

The edge colour is the finish applied to the sides of the mounted panel — the visible depth when the piece is hanging. It frames the image from the side and gives the piece a polished, complete appearance. Black and White are the most popular choices for a neutral finish. Cherry and Gold add warmth. The mat is the coloured border surrounding your print on the face of the mount. The trim is a thin accent line added between the mat and the print edge, visible as a narrow inner border in a contrasting or complementary colour. Trim cannot be ordered without a mat.

Yes. A mat border is available on Plak, Float, and Flush mounts. Both single and double mat options are available in 22 colours. The mat and print are sealed together under the same protective laminate, so the border is as scratch-resistant and easy-to-clean as the rest of the surface.

All wood mounts use a non-glare (matte) transparent laminate. This eliminates reflections under room lighting, gives the surface a clean and painterly quality, and makes the piece easy to wipe clean. It looks great from any angle in the room.

Wood mounts are available from 9” wide up to 40” wide. Available sizes for a given artwork depend on the original image proportions. All sizes and live pricing are listed on the product page — select any artwork, switch to the Wood Mount tab, and browse the size selector.
