Custom Picture Framing in Canada

Solid wood mouldings, handcrafted in Mississauga. Cut to your exact size and ready to hang.

The Frame Your Artwork Deserves

A custom frame is built to fit your print exactly, with no cropping, no filler, and no compromise. Unlike mass-produced frames that come in fixed sizes, ours are cut and assembled piece by piece in our Mississauga workshop to your precise image dimensions, producing a timeless, enduring result that never goes out of style.

Every frame uses solid plantation-grown wood mouldings (never sourced from natural forests), covered by an acrylic front panel rather than glass, which would shatter during shipping. Our professional framers ensure the moulding width and mat size are proportionally balanced with your artwork for an aesthetically pleasing presentation. Finished, packaged, and shipped ready to hang.

Glazing Options

All frames use acrylic rather than glass. Acrylic weighs less, won’t shatter during shipping, and is safer to handle. Choose the level of protection that suits your space.

Acrylic Default

Standard clear acrylic. Lightweight and shatter-resistant, chosen over glass so frames arrive safely. The right choice for most home and office settings.

Non-Glare Acrylic

Diffuses light to reduce reflections. Ideal for brightly lit rooms, spaces with many windows, or walls opposite light sources.

UV Acrylic

Blocks 99% of UV light to slow fading and colour shift. Best for pieces displayed near windows or in sun-exposed rooms.

UV & Non-Glare

Maximum protection with no reflections. The premium choice for heirloom pieces, fine art, and any print you want to preserve long-term.

Mat & Finishing Options

A mat adds visual breathing room between your artwork and the frame, enhancing the overall presentation. All options are available when ordering.

Top Mat

A coloured border surrounding your print on the face of the frame. Available in widths from ¾″ to 4″ in ¼″ increments. Our framers will suggest a width proportionally balanced with your moulding and print size.

Float Option

When Float is selected, your artwork is raised above the mat surface on a thin spacer, creating a visible shadow gap between the print edge and the mat. The print appears suspended within the frame. Requires a top mat; cannot be combined with a bottom mat.

Top & Bottom Mat

A thin ¼″ bottom mat adds an accent line between the top mat and the artwork, visible as a narrow inner border in a contrasting or complementary colour. Creates a classic double-mat look. Requires a top mat; not available when Float is selected.

A note on screen colours: Colours look slightly different on every screen. A Mac, a PC, and a phone can each show the same mat as a different shade. Your mat may appear marginally brighter, darker, or slightly shifted in hue compared to what you see here. This is normal and unavoidable across devices.

Professionally Packaged

Every frame is wrapped in protective materials, secured with corner protectors, and placed in a sturdy box designed to prevent damage in transit. Shipped safely across Canada.

Frequently Asked Questions

A ready-made frame comes in fixed sizes, so your print often needs to be cropped or padded to fit. A custom frame is cut and assembled to the exact dimensions of your print. Nothing is cropped, nothing is wasted. The moulding, glazing, and mat are all chosen specifically for your piece, and the result is a proportionally balanced, professionally finished work that a stock frame simply cannot replicate.

Yes. We make framed photo prints from your own image: we print your photo, then cut and assemble the moulding to fit it exactly. Everything is handcrafted here in Mississauga and shipped anywhere in Canada, ready to hang. Upload your photo to choose a size and moulding.

Terra is the most versatile: a flat, square-edged profile that suits nearly any artwork or room. Orion has a slim face with a deeper body, giving a modern, minimal look. Luna offers a stepped profile with more visual weight, balanced with most décor styles. Sol is the boldest choice: wide and deep for large prints or gallery walls. Certificate styles use a classic stepped profile long associated with formal documents and awards. As a starting point: go Terra or Certificate for traditional art and photos, Orion or Luna for contemporary pieces, and Sol for oversized or statement prints.

Standard Acrylic works well for most rooms and is included by default. Choose Non-Glare if your wall gets direct light or you have lamps nearby that cause reflections. Choose UV Acrylic if your piece will be near a window or in a sun-exposed room. UV acrylic blocks 99% of UV light to slow fading. UV + Non-Glare combines both benefits and is the best choice for fine art or pieces you want to preserve for decades.

A mat is optional but it makes a significant difference. It adds visual breathing room between the print and the frame, drawing the eye into the artwork. Without a mat, the frame butts directly against the print edge. We generally recommend a mat for photographs, certificates, and detailed artwork. For bold or graphic prints that benefit from a tight, modern crop, going matless can also look intentional and strong.

Start with the artwork. Look at the colours in your print and identify the dominant tone (the colour covering the most area) and any accent colours. Also note whether the overall palette is warm (reds, oranges, yellows) or cool (blues, greens, purples).

Choosing a mat colour. The most reliable approach is to pick a muted version of a secondary or accent colour already in the artwork, creating a cohesive look without competing with the main subject. When in doubt, a neutral works every time: use White Ice or White for bright, saturated artwork; Cream or Tan for warm-toned or vintage pieces; and Black for high-contrast photographs or bold graphic prints. Avoid matching the mat exactly to the dominant colour of the artwork, as this tends to make the overall piece feel flat.

Choosing a frame colour. Match the temperature: warm artwork (golds, ambers, earth tones) pairs naturally with warm frames such as Walnut, Gold, or Cherry. Cool artwork (blues, greys, greens) pairs with cooler frames like Black, White, or Silver. The frame and mat should complement each other rather than compete. A dark frame with a light mat and a dark mat with a light frame are both reliable combinations.

When in doubt, use the preview. Our ordering page lets you see your selected artwork with any moulding and mat combination before you buy.

With the Float Option, your print is raised above the mat surface on a thin spacer, so there is a visible shadow gap between the edge of the print and the mat. The artwork appears to be suspended inside the frame rather than lying flat against it. This creates a contemporary effect that works especially well with photographic prints and modern artwork. Float requires a top mat and cannot be combined with a bottom mat.

A bottom mat is a thin ¼″ accent colour visible between the top mat and the print edge. It creates a classic double-mat look, adding a refined inner border detail. You can choose any of the 22 mat colours for the accent, which makes it easy to pull out a secondary tone from the artwork. A bottom mat requires a top mat and is not available when Float is selected.

Custom frames are available for print sizes from 10” wide up to 40” wide. If you are unsure which size to order, select your art on the detail page and the available print sizes will be shown automatically based on the artwork’s proportions.

Yes. All of our mouldings are made from plantation-grown and legally harvested wood. None of our mouldings come from natural forests.

Yes, and it is completely normal. Every screen (Mac, PC, phone, tablet) renders colour slightly differently. The same mat can appear marginally brighter, darker, or shifted in hue depending on your display. What you see on screen is the closest representation we can provide, but minor differences between screen and physical mat colour are expected and are not a production defect.

Frames are produced and shipped from Mississauga within 2 to 4 weeks. Every order includes our 30-day satisfaction guarantee: if you are not happy with what arrives, contact us and we will make it right.
